Have you ever wondered wondered just what the hell it is? Well....here's your answer!
In 1981 McDonald’s introduced it, a boneless pork sandwich of chunked and "formed meat", developed in part through check-off funds from the National Pork
Producers Council. It was not as popular as the McNugget, introduced in
1983, would be, even though both products were composed of unmarketable
parts of the animal .
Although it is marketed as pork ribs, it is mostly made up of shoulder meat, formed into a patty as an end product of "restructured meat technology." According to McDonald's, "The McRib is made from simple ground pork.
No tripe, heart, stomach, offal or similar parts are used." At 450 calories, CalorieCounter.com gives it a D for nutritional value.
The entire McRib sandwich contains about 70 ingredients — including a flour-bleaching agent used in yoga mats.
YUM YUM!!!!
